Our Founders

Dr. Tongaonkar Hospital was started in 1967, by Dr. Ravindranath (Surgeon) and Dr. Asha Tongaonkar and later joined by Dr. Rajesh (Obstetrician and Gynaecologist) and Dr. Jyotsna (Anaesthetist) since 1997. What began as small surgical , maternity and general hospital starting from 5 beds, has expanded to 25 beds hospital with 2 consulting rooms, fully equipped 2 operation theatres having video-endoscopy facility (Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy), 2 labour room with 6 separate pre-delivery beds, Ultrasonography, digital x-ray, fully equipped Laboratory with facility like haematology, biochemistry and hormone estimation.

With loss of our founder Dr. Ravindranath recently our surgical unit is not functioning but Obstetrics (maternity and delivery) the field concentrating on the pregnancy, childbirth and postdelivery period, Gynaecology which deals with the illness of a woman at all stages of life and Fertility related problems and there Endoscopic (Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy) and surgical management are well looked after by Dr. Rajesh and Dr. Jyotsna and their well-trained and highly experienced team. 

Dr. Rajesh, Dr. Jyotsna and their team having experience of around 45,000 deliveries, aim to provide mothers with a safe and successful motherhood and ensure a smooth process. One of the important things to be kept in mind while choosing your hospital for delivery is the bond and trust you have with the doctors.
